Trapper Felides, well renowned Musical Director and Broadway vocal coach and the recent star of the Oxygen show, The Next Big Thing NY, presently airing on E! in Canada will be headlining and playing piano for OPEN MIC NIGHT at the Star Maker School in Flemington on Friday, March 29th at 7:30pm.

He will also offer private coachings at the school Thursday, Friday and Saturday March 28th, 29th and 30th. Singers and musicians/songwriters who are interested in performing should call the studio at 908-237-0656 to hold a spot in the show line-up or to schedule a coaching. Trapper is always in search of singers who dream of performing on Broadway one day soon, ages 5-25.

Hailed by the New York Post as "the go-to voice coach for pint-size triple threats," Trapper has been known for his work as a star-maker for young talent on Broadway, in TV and film, and in the recording studio. Recent highlights include music directing Arts Horizons’ Tribute to Paul Simon (with Paul himself in attendance), and directing Broadway Takes Charge (benefiting the Trevor Project) for the finale of his TV show. Other charitable work: performances for The Point Foundation, GLAAD, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, The Human Rights Campaign, Susan G. Komen for a Cure, United Cerebral Palsy, The Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the LA Gay and Lesbian Center. Concerts include over 75 performances of Upright Cabaret, the acclaimed Our Hit Parade, Trapper’s Greatest Hits, and Bridget Everett’s We’ve Got Tonight (Time Out New York’s pick for Top Cabaret Show of the year). Trapper has been seen on The Today Show, Showbiz Tonight, and Nightline, filmed for E! and the Oprah Women’s Network, and profiled in the New York Post, The New York Times, Backstage, and OK! Magazine.

The proceeds from this event will be donated to the local Red Cross. Private coachings and this special OPEN MIC NIGHT are open to the general arts community and are not limited to Star Maker students. A Big Star Maker Thank you goes out to Trapper Felides
for teaching this past weekend!


Trapper Felides, well renowned Broadway vocal coach and the recent star of the Oxygen show, The Next Big Thing NY, offered a lecture workshop and private coachings at The Star Maker School in Flemington. Singers who dream of performing on Broadway one day soon, ages 5-25 participated in info the workshop and private coaching.

He has helped train local teen actor, singer, dancer and Broadway, TV and Film star, Kevin Csolak for the past five years. Kevin, 17 and a junior at Hunterdon Central High School is presently a co-star on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and has been a singer on Broadway and for Cirque Du Soleil who volunteered his talents this past summer to be a dance consultant for Trapper’s TV show. In an effort to give back to our local arts community Trapper is traveling to Hunterdon County to share his talents with our aspiring talented young people.

Private coachings and the workshop are both open to the general arts community and are not limited to Star Maker students. Experience the imaginative world of Interactive Children's Theatre with our top acting teacher, Kathleen Currie, and her most advanced STAR MAKER acting students. Children will be invited to become characters and act, sing, dance and have fun while sharing in an improvisational story telling experience. Even shy children will enjoy this wonderful fun evening as they too will be drawn in by the narrators and the actors. An awesome way for children to learn about acting and theatre performance.
Children welcome without a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians welcome to watch and or participate as well. 6:30-8:30pm ~ Ages 5-12.
Under age 5 welcome with adult guest.
$10 per child payable in cash at the door.

OPEN MIC NIGHT - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26th
 
Open Mic Nights start this coming Friday, October 26th at the Flemington Studio Location at 7:30pm. If you haven't been to one yet, try to plan to attend. Talented singers, actors and musicians come out from all walks of life and strut their stuff. Studio D turns into a Manhattan Black Box Theatre. This show is a true organic sharing of the arts. Elite company members who are Seniors in High School are invited to come out and be hosts and hostesses for the event.

New York City chic and cool wardrobe is in order
for this evening of big town nightlife with a small town flair.
Material is always family friendly. Suggested donation at the door is $8/person.

Top 3 KCD Dance Challenge!

 
The Star Maker School of the Performing Arts' Senior Dancers will perform this coming Monday evening on the court at Madison Square Garden, New York City.
 
With the communities help these local teens could dance the halftime show to a sold-out crowd at the world's most famous arena!

The troupe, members ages 12-18 made the final three in the Knicks City Dancers, Can You Feel The Rhythm Dance Challenge this past Sunday night in New York City.
 
The Star Maker dancers were chosen by the Knicks to represent our area. Knicks City Dancer, captain, Michelle traveled to Hunterdon to instruct the performers for four hours, following which the group had ten days to rehearse the number and design costumes for the performance.
 
Members included; Rachel Allen, Hannah Balzer, Alexa Carten, Kevin Csolak, Hillary Dadouris, Jake Deibert, Teal DePaola, Shannan Dowling, Brian England, Kimberly Fivek, Jordan Fusco, Alexis Galaini, Xining Gao, Avery Gebhardt, Megan Gecik, Christina George, Alyssa Haggan, Maureen Healy, Megan Healy, Katelyn Hughes, Jessie Masaitis, Brianna Mastrull, Megan McNally, Morgan Novak, Rebecca Pytell, Chelsea Riccardi, Sarah Riley, Maria Sacchi, Laura Schaufelberger, Elizabeth Shi, and Hayley Stricker.
 


Ivan Koumaev, star of Fox's 'So You Think You Can Dance,' taught class at the Star Maker School in Clinton last night. The 21 year old dancing superstar, taught over thirty children, ages twelve and up and introduced them to the newest trend in HipHop; House-style. Ivan also toured with Hannah Montana and recently moved to New York City. The Star Maker students experienced high energy, positive motivation from the Russian born, world-famous star and left with autographs and pictures to share. "It was an amazing and thrilling experience for all the dancers," stated Leesa Csolak, director, "the SMS Staff was so excited to bring a performer of Ivan's caliber to our Clinton and Flemington students." Call the studio for your child to be evaluated to participate in future workshops and classes with the 'So You Think You Can Dance' Star and others.
