Letter from Our Director

Dear Friends,

A Sincere thank you goes out to each parent for your time and support throughout the year. Thank-you for trusting us with your talented children. Our staff continues to enjoy training them and helping them to develop and grow in their selected areas of performance.

I am excited each year to see that more parents are seeing the value in activities such as ours that help promote healthy youth. I feel strongly and am driven by the idea that children need to feel good about themselves to succeed. They need to be given confidence to perform well as they grow and change. I make sure we help make that happen here at Star Maker.

Congratulations to our Senior Graduate, Emily Lesinski. Emily you have been a model student and a joy to have at Star Maker. Our entire staff will miss you dearly. You have excelled in all dance areas and have exhibited a mature understanding of all aspects of our program. We wish you the best of everything as you continue your education at New York University in the Fall.

Shannon McHale and Kurt Csolak; we've watched you grow up in the program from the young age of three. What a journey. You have become fabulous dancers, continuing for a decade to show dedication, perseverance and a love for the arts. It has been an honor to teach and train you. Congratulations on your hundreds of awards and performances throughout your ten years at Star Maker.

To our five and seven year award winners, congratulations on your accomplishments as well. I am proud to present you with your achievement awards today. A hug for good luck goes out to our first year dancers. We know you will sparkle with delight as you enjoy the applause today.

Working hard, setting short and long term goals, displaying perseverance and having patience have all been shown by our Entertainers this past season. I am proud of the fact that even though we won many awards and titles, our members are realizing the intensity of the road ahead and striving for goals beyond what they've set in the past. Platinum at dance regional and nationals is now a reality for all. National-world championships for baton and guard are within your reach. AYOP last Summer was a learning experience for everyone. Placing runner-up in two major corps categories and winning many and all caption awards certainly surprised every one of us. The tools are there; let's make "it" happen.

And helping to make the dreams come true for The Entertainers are always the dedicated parents organization. A great big Thank-you to president, Regina York and the rest of the board, along with prop makers, "studders", and scenic builders. A terrific job by fund raising queens, Donna Fania and Susan Dadouris made for a fantastic season of performances for everyone. And not to forget our seamstress supreme, Jennifer Loveall. Your talent and love of sewing is a gift; we are so happy you continue to share it with us.

To my parent's George and Mary Bonnell who founded our school in 1987- Thank-you.
Also a loving thank-you to my husband Keith and my children who continue to support all we do at Star Maker.

I cannot thank the Star Maker staff enough for this year's hard work and dedication. It did sometimes feel like we were "Workin' Day and Night". We have had a very busy year, but it certainly been fun and fruitful. A special thank-you goes to Miss Kim for the past three years with Star Maker. We appreciate all your hard work. Miss Kim will be leaving us after this National season to pursue other personal goals. She says she will not be gone forever, though. I don't think she'll ever get "this" out of her blood. A prior Miss Baton and Dance, Miss Majorette of New Jersey and National Champion, Miss Kim has long had the Entertainers and Star Maker in her heart. We will miss you terribly and you will always be in our hearts. Thank-you Miss Kim.

Miss Jerri; you have out done yourself again, the ballet is wonderful. Miss Marissa; ten years as a staff member and the best assistant corps director I have ever had, I love you and thank-you for all you have done.

To all our staff, performers, parents and friends; the work is done. It is now time to relax and enjoy our music and dancing featuring songs from "Time in a Bottle". I am very proud of your children and their progress as well as their individual accomplishments this year. May they continue to grow and succeed through their enjoyment and dedication to performance and the arts.

Sincerely,

Leesa Bonnell-Csolak
Director
