National Baton Twirling Association's Grand World Flag/Color Guard Championship:

The thirty-three member corps, ages 9-21 performed dance and production work with rifles, sabres and flags for seven minutes to musical selections surrounding a "space" theme. The contest, directed by Don Sartell of Janesville, Wisconsin, draws thousands of competitors from throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.

The Entertainers, captained by Steve Csolak, of Raritan Township and Jamie Day, of Branchburg Township also captured the USA/World Junior Parade Corps Championship title as well as placing third in Junior Twirling Corps and fourth in Halftime Show Team. The Entertainers qualified for the National finals by winning State and Regional competitions this past Spring.

Eighteen members of the team also captured National Solo and/or Duet/Trio titles. Top soloists were;

Anthony Fania, 10 of Tewksbury won the prestigious advanced divisions including Juvenile Solo Twirl for Men, Open Juvenile Men's Solo Champion, Juvenile Show Twirl, and Juvenile Rhythmic Twirl.

Kurt Csolak, 13 of Raritan Township won the Preteen Open Dance Solo with "Can't Stand Still", Junior Solo Color Guard championship, and Preteen Open Dance Duet/Trio with partner Danielle George, 13 of Raritan Township to "Sun Rise, Sunset".

Jamie Day, 21 of Branchburg won Senior Open Dance Solo, Senior Pompon Solo, and Intermediate Flag Solo.

Heather Shapiro, 15 of Pittstown won the Senior Open Dance Solo and Senior Jazz Solo with routines to "Power of the Dream" and "Don't Ask Me Why".

Megan McNally, 10 of Ringoes won the Preteen Jazz Dance Solo event with "All That Jazz". Megan along with trio partners, Danielle George and Sandra Wilson won the Preteen Jazz Duet/Trio event with "Can't Hurry Love".

Alex Novak, 10 of Flemington, won the Juvenile Jazz Dance Solo award dancing to "Canned Heat".

Alexis Galaini, 10 of Raritan Township took the Juvenile Open Dance Solo category with "It Is You". And together with partners, Teal DePaola, 9 of Flemington, and Serena Hutton, 13 of Readington captured the Juvenile Jazz Duet/Trio Division dancing to "Instant Replay".

Kevin Csolak, 7 of Raritan Township won the Tiny Tot Dance Solo division with his Tap solo to "Old MacDonald".

Alexis Kreigl, 10 of Pittstown, won the Junior Rifle Solo.

Kaitlin Gentry, 14 of Readington, won the Novice Solo One Baton.

Steve Csolak, 18 and Lauren Offord, 17 both of Raritan Township took the Senior Open Dance Duet/Trio title with "When I'm Gone". While Offord together with Amber DePaola 12 of Flemington and Jennifer Bolten, 13 of Branchburg won the Senior Jazz Duet/Trio category dancing to "Workin' Day and Night".

Other members of the winning corps were;
Nicole Froshhauser, Susan Long, Kurt Csolak, Elena Goldstein, Rachel Boelter, Avia Goldstein, Danielle Froshhauser, Dayna Goldstein, Danielle Kreigl, Olivia Offord, Lauren Christensen, Erica Schmidt, Emily Shapiro, Alyssa Johnstone, Brian McNally, Lauren Froshhauser, Megan Baniewicz.

The Entertainers Dance Company also performed at the Showstopper American Dance Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this July. Fourty members competed in the Eastern National Championship directed by Debbie and Dave Roberts of Murrell's Inlet in the areas of Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Baton, Lyrical and Production divisions.

The group won a spot in the top twenty, placing eighteenth out of nine-hundred Junior teams from throughout the Eastern United States. The entire team performed a tap production number to "Rock This Town" and received a Platinum award. The Entertainers Junior Baton Corps performed to "Doctor, Doctor" and won the Baton category and a spot on Showstoppers' Top Group Video. "Rock This Town" will appear on the top twenty group video. Both videos are sold nation-wide starting in December.

A platinum award was also won by the Entertainers' ballet production number, "A Businessman's Daydream". The entire team performed the original ballet and captured the top overall Junior Super Group Award.

"Workin' Day and Night" won fourth overall Senior Jazz, while "Thieves In the Temple" took first in age 14 Pompon and "Dare To Dream" won the Senior Lyrical division for 14 year olds. "Here Comes the Sun" won the Junior Lyrical division for age 10.

Pompon Duet, "I Wanna Be With You" danced by Megan McNally and Christina George captured the duet pom title. And Tap duet danced by Rachel Boelter and Hannah Brady received a Platinum rating and placed fourth overall.

Members of the team also competed in solo events.
Anthony Fania won the Character solo event with his "Slide Some Oil To Me" baton solo. Sandra Wilson, 10 of Asbury and Serena Hutton, 13 of Readington both tied for the Baton Solo title with routines to "It's No Secret Anymore" and "Money Medley" respectively. Alexis Galaini and Anthony Fania also tied for the top spot in baton category juvenile.

Kevin Csolak, 7 of Raritan Township won his Tap category with "Old MacDonald" and placed 7th overall, Andrew George, 7 of Raritan Township won his character division with "Soul Man" and placed 4th overall, Heather Escalona, 9 of Raritan Township won her ballet category with "Variation In Pink", Linda Tingley, 14 of Readington took the ballet division with "Excerpt from Sylvia" and took first overall teen ballerinas. Jacquie Foran, 13 of Pittstown received platinum for jazz to "Thou Swell" and spot in the top ten.
